Dope Hip Hop

A few years ago I discovered something called "rap jazz" and it changed my life. This site is dedicated to hip hop groups that I feel epitomize rap jazz and alt hip hop. There are dozens of other groups, but these one are my personal favorites. The information about each artist was taken from Genius and Wikipedia.

This site was built using CSS Grid and p5.js, and hip hop.

A Tribe Called Quest

About the Tribe

A Tribe Called Quest is to Hip Hop what Pink Floyd is to Rock ‘n’ Roll. With humble beginnings in Queens, New York, the group blossomed from the friendship of Jonathan Davis (Q-Tip) and Malik Taylor (Phife Dawg). Along with acts like Jungle Brothers and De La Soul—their comrades in the Native Tongues rap collective—they vitalized East Coast Hip Hop, setting the stage for the rise of mainstream and alternative hip hop alike.

Why I like this artist

The reason I started looking at rap jazz (jazz rap?) in the first place.
